Youth and Children
St. Paul’s offers a wide variety of ministries for children infant through 6th grade. All of the
Children’s Ministries at St. Paul’s are committed to helping children learn about Jesus Christ, develop a meaningful relationship with Him, and provide opportunities for children to reach out to others age specific service opportunities.
Specific Ministries for Children:
Nursery Care – Special paid staff provide loving care for infants through age 3. Nursery care is available for all worship services as well as many other church related events and activities.
STP-34 (Serve the People) - The purpose of this ministry is to teach 3rd and 4th graders about missions, have them actually participate in mission projects, and to learn about why we do mission work. STP has assembled care packages for Meals on Wheels, taken field trips to the Ronald McDonald House and Food bank as well as volunteered at the River City Humane Society. For more info contact Jill Mouk.
Bible 101 for Kids-Can your child name the books of the Bible? Can he find a specific scripture in the Bible? Can he find the “famous” Bible stories? Jill Mouk teaches this class to children in grades 2-4 during the school year on Wednesday nights from 6:00-6:30pm in the Captain Paul’s Wharf Sunday school room. Students will learn to recite the Books of the Bible, identify the 10 Commandments, have “Bible wars” to find scripture the fastest, and study Bible stories.
Club 56 - This ministry for 5th and 6th graders meets monthly September through May on Sunday afternoon from 4-5pm in the Club 56 room. The general focus is community building, fellowship, games, and special programs on developmental issues specific to preteens. Club 56 fellowship also includes outings and special events. Opportunities to participate in retreats and service projects are also part of this ministry. For information about hour next meeting please email Jill Mouk.
Confirmation - Confirmation is for students in sixth grade and meets September through May on Sundays from 4:00-5:00pm in the Flinn's Men Classroom. This ministry provides a structured, youth friendly setting for understanding and exploring our Christian faith. Any parent interested in registering their child should contact Jill Mouk.
