LOCAL WAYS TO SERVE

There are many ways we can help our community. St. Paul's is able to do this with YOUR help. There are opportunities year-round that we participate in, while others are seasonal. St. Paul's is thrilled to give back to our community in any way possible, will you join us?

Grace Place

Grace Place is a local feeding ministry that helps meet the needs of the poor. Their motto is "ordinary people serving an extraordinary God." St. Paul's takes a team on the second Friday of each month from 11am-1pm.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

Cook (9am) or serve meals. Along with this, Grace Place has a food pantry and clothes closet. If you cannot volunteer to come with us, consider donating food, clothes, household items, or furniture items.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels is a home- delivered, nutritionally balanced meal service for homebound persons, age 60 & over. St. Paul's is responsible for Saturday meal-delivery every other month.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

Cook and prepare plates, or deliver for a pre-determined route in the Monroe and West Monroe area. It's simple and rewarding!

Renewal Center

The Renewal Center is a safe place for the homeless to find haven, help, hope, and a warm meal. The Renewal Center partners with other homeless service providers to end homelessness for families in Monroe and the surrounding region.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

Every Monday: prepare 50 sandwiches & sack lunches at church to be delivered to the center.

3rd Thursday of each month: cook 50 hot lunches at church to be delivered to the center.

OTHER WAYS WE SERVE

Some of the opportunities we participate in are Angel Tree, which provides gifts to children;

Breakfast for Lexington Elementary School teachers at the start of each school-year;

Coat and Blanket Drive donated to various organizations during the fall;

School Supplies donated to local and foreign missions, dry beans collected for Rays of Sonshine

Methodist Children's Home Christmas party for a house of girls or boys; and UMCOR Collections which provides flood buckets, health kits and school kits to those in need.
