YOUTH

We LOVE our students!

They're smart. They're funny. They're bold. And they're bursting with potential. We truly believe that the middle and high school students in our midst are world changers in the making.

This moment in life can be both amazing and hard, and our community of students have shown a love for each other, and for spreading the love of Jesus to our community and beyond. We want to guide our students in developing a personal faith in Jesus through which they will discover everything God made them to be. We work hard to create environments that engage students in good conversation about God, encouraging them to ask questions, search for answers and truly learn to listen to His leading.

Our youth meets Sundays at 5 pm and, during the school year, Wednesdays at 6.

Junior and Senior high school students also meet for breakfast on Tuesday mornings before school.

Teen Retreat

Once a year, we have a Charis Teen Retreat with First United Methodist in Monroe. This retreat is an opportunity for teens to grow in their faith and meet other teens in the same walk of life.

High School Senior Prayer Breakfast

Every year, our seniors are given prayer partners to pray for them throughout their final year in high school. These mentors are chosen by the students, so their connections are allowed to grow and flourish comfortably. At the end of the year, we celebrate our seniors at a Prayer Breakfast!

Holiday Shenanigans

The youth have fun celebrating holidays in their own way! They put on a Sunrise Service every Easter, a Living Nativity every Christmas, and more. They even have Friday Night Lights during the high school football season.

Fun in Serving

Our youth help the community in many ways. The biggest (and funnest) way they serve is the Souper Bowl of Caring and the Pantry Raid. The Souper Bowl of Caring raises money for a local charity. The Pantry Raid is a competition to get the most non-perishable food (from volunteering participants).
